Richard Lewis interview with t1
This is a follow up to my original post me critiquing how t1 management are handling the valorant roster and this is a huge eye opener into how t1 conduct themselves. For those who dont know Richard Lewis (to be honest who doesn't know him) he is a well known esports journalist and he is known for his polarizing opinions on many many teams in counter-strike (some are deserved such as navi) but other than that i truly truly believe he is a brilliant journalist because he can have a opinion supported by the facts (great example is navi's coach who he says is teaching navi a outdated way to play the game and it reflects in navi's recent performances against other teams such as complexity)
However, back to the subject Frod is saying how t1 always wanted to try him out since august 2020 and he briefly touches on crashies and victor (still wish it was food) having beef with some players on the team (according to frod) which was referring to victor's steam message controversy where he had a discord message saying ska was holding them back and his comms were worse than usual.
FroD was saying that t1 told him that he had experience in MDL (mountain dew league for the non cs people) and they wanted him trialed and given errands to do however, the key part of this interview is frod didn't know he played PUBG and he didn't know he was a cheater until pr0phie and vegas tweeted that he was a ex cheater. As well as this, he is revealed to have been suggesting strats to make him look good in front of wawa (T1 general manager i believe) and i think its super super scummy. T1 Management (GM president and managers watched and critiqued when THEY ARE NOT THE PROS) also wanted explanations of why they lost a scrim which is quite frankly outrageous and the point of a scrim is to experiment with a agent composition and find out the opponent's tendencies before a tourney Frod says that their "solution" was cutting the paycheck (decreasing payment and salary)
The apartments were with 80% packet loss (explains why they had to play in the theater in the kind of documentary with dazed) and frod specifically asked "put the team anywhere in California where there is fibre internet" and they got put in simply inadequate housing (T1 seem to be skinting on housing) in the middle of the hood. Then when they qualified for First strike finals they got moved to a place in Hollywood where they finally had good internet but this was 1 week before the finals and they only stayed there for 3 weeks (why weren't they there the first time?) and i have to agree with Richard on T1 incompetence because why are they cheaping out for such a big organization? and frod hit the nail on the head by saying "they are over promising and underdelivering "and they were lured in by saying you will get lots of Logitech and Nike gear and for the academy team twitch partnership. T1 really messed up brax and azk's sub split (on twitch) so instead on 70/30 its 50/50 and t1 cost them 20% of their subs for the rest of the stream career.
T1 didn't even tell their team that they were parting ways with frod which finally brings me to the end of this 2 part series. In conclusion this did leave me with a bad taste in my mouth and i would really like it if T1 cleaned up their act as it is hugely unprofessional and stop needing to get explanations after a scrim loss because its pointless and simply draconian.
